Bio
Originally from Argentina, Anabella has performed principal roles in the United States and Argentina, including Hänsel (Humperdinck), Sorceress (Purcell), Rosine (Pasatieri) Mrs. Webster (Candey), Kate (Gilbert & Sullivan), Mercédès (Bizet), Pillar 3 (Mozart/Jones), and Giovanna (Verdi), Despina, Serpetta, Papagena, and Barbarina (Mozart); Rosita (Torroba), L'Enfant (cover), Chinese Cup, White Cat, Shepherd and Owl (Ravel); Heraldo (Lambertini); Poesié (Charpentier), Mariquita Sánchez de Thompson (Kohan) and Berenice (Rossini). She has sung with Opera Columbus, Opera Project Columbus, Opera Joven, OSU Opera Theatre, and DAMus's Opera Company. She participated in productions of Moliere's The Imaginary Sick in the roles of Belina, Mora, Doctor, Polichinella, and Flora with the Ensemble Arcana of Baroque Music, and the staged-oratorios Carissimi, the Territory of Sacrifice at the CCK with Enhorabuena Company. She was part of Opera Columbus's María de Buenos Aires and Tosca productions in the ensemble.
Anabella founded, produced, and sang in Ensemble Tempus, a chamber orchestra dedicated to studying and promoting 20th- and 21st-century Music. The ensemble has performed concerts at the Usina del Arte, Museo y Casa Fernández Blanco Museum, Centro Cultural San Martín, Manzana de las Luces, Museo Roca, Casa de la Cultura de Buenos Aires, Sala García Morillo, Casa de Rusia and Legislatura Porteña in Buenos Aires. In 2017, the group was awarded a Special Mention in Academic Music from the University Artistic Festival for the performance of Folk Songs by Luciano Berio. Anabella also performed pieces by Ligeti, Schönberg, Cage, Arpeghis, and Stravinsky. She founded the Cardinal Ensemble in Columbus, OH, which performed at Saint's Mary Concert Series in 2024 music by J. Heggie. She also leads a Latin American ensemble, the Andes ensemble, with the ultimate goal of promoting Andean Music.
In 2019, Anabella was awarded a scholarship by the National Endowment for the Arts to perform Nonti scordar di me with Enhorabuena Company at the Argentine Consulate in New York and to participate in the Latin American Festival in Columbus, Ohio, with Omar Cyrulnik. She was granted financial support by the Greater Columbus Arts Council in 2023/2024 and 2024/2025. In 2023 Anabella was recipient of the Wilson Voice Competition, in 2023, she won the Platinum Prize and Masters of Emotion Special Award at the UK Elizabeth Music Competition and the 3rd prize at the World's Best Musicians Classical Music Competition and the first place at Berlioz's Music Competition in 2024.
Anabella was a graduate teaching assistant at OSU, serving in the Voice Area and Music Education Area. She holds a DMA in Voice Performance, Singing Health Specialization, and a Master's in Music Education from The Ohio State University. She graduated with a BM from the National University of Arts in Buenos Aires. In Argentina, she worked as an Artistic Administrator, Director of Operations, and Special Projects and Events for the College of Music at the National University of Arts. Anabella worked as the executive coordinator of The Araiz Ballet, directed by Oscar Araiz and producer of the Ensamble Vocal Contemporáneo led by Mariana Rosas.
